Leading the wins in music's biggest night, Evanescence won five awards out of nine nominations, including Album of the Year, Best New Artist and Artist of the Year. Both Luther Vandross and Eminem won three awards each. Best Female Pop Performance winner Christina Aguilera was nominated in pop, R&B and rock categories, becoming the second artist after Jennifer Lopez to have nominations in three different genre categories.
